Hey everyone,
Since it’s been a couple weeks I wanted to do a recap of my event Self-Love & Style in association with The Body Confidence Revolution.
Firstly, I would just like to thank Collectif Clothing for agreeing to be the venue for the event. Their new store on Commercial Street was perfect and big love to the fabulous Pippa who helped me along the way with organising.
It was a fabulous evening filled with laughter and glam. On arrival I had prosecco available for the ladies (and the drinks continued to flow throughout the night!) which was followed by delicious canapes thanks to Sophie Wright Catering
There were a couple of ladies from Pretty Me Vintage giving the guests some fabulous pin-up hairstyles. The guests absolutely loved this and everyone looked terrific with their vintage inspired hair-dos!
After getting their hair done the ladies were picture ready! There was a cute photobooth in place with a fun vintage VW van decal (from Just Pose.) Photobooths are always good fun and we got some hilarious shots!
Also adding to the atmosphere were my talented friends singing in their vintage trio ‘The Bellabees’. This was their first official gig as the trio and they were fab, so please go give them a follow on instagram to see some behind the scenes rehearsal vids from the event – @thebellabees .
Finally the time came for the main event! Myself, Georgina Horne (Fuller Figure Fuller Bust) & Leyah Shanks (The Body Confidence Revolution) took to the floor and spoke about our views on self-love & body confidence.
Leyah was a last minute addition as she wasn’t sure whether she could make it from Scotland. But she did!! I was so happy to have her there as she is the creator of The Body Confidence Revolution and it really meant a lot for everyone else to meet her and learn more about #TBCR.
Georgina was amazing and everything she was saying was so relatable. It was also interesting to hear how she deals with having such a big following and attracting somewhat negative responses to some of her posts online.
I rounded off the talks with a Q&A which turned into a 30 minute group discussion which was amazing!! At some events I’ve been to the Q&A is a bit sparse as some people hate raising their hand and speaking in front of everyone. But I believe we created a very comfortable, safe space that allowed people to talk openly. It was lovely. And it was amazing to see the room filled with women of all different shapes and sizes but all wanting to accept and love themselves. Because body confidence isn’t just for one type of body shape. We all have the right to love ourselves and feel confident.

One of the lovely ladies that attended has written a blog about her experience at the event – please take a read here!
Until next time, Abby xoxo
Thank you Abby, this is the first time I’ve been mentioned in somebody else’s blog…it’s so exciting! And there’s pix of me in your album….woooooo!! Extra spesh! Thanks again for a lovely evening, don’t let it be a one and only xx
